Just Booked The Stompers, Solas, and Barefoot Truth!
Hi Everybody,
I hope everybody is doing well despite the weather. We've had so much rain this June, my son's Little League playoffs were cut short. This time of year, we usually have high electric bills because the air conditioner gets turned on. This year, my electric meter is spinning because of the sump pump!
What a great night we had with Jimmy tingle this past Saturday. The ultimate in clean political humor, Jimmy had us laughing for two hours. If you get a chance to see him, I highly recommend it. We will definitely have him back.
Personally, I can't wait for the Savoy Brown show this Saturday. When Kim Simmonds takes the stage, I am going to have a huge grin on my face! Still tickets available if you want to go.
The special CD Release show with TRUFFLE this Friday is a great bargain. Besides the night of great music, each purchase gets you a copy of their new CD. That's quite a deal!
I regularly get phone calls from people requesting to see an artist who has recently played the venue. Check out our full schedule. There are currently over 50 shows on our schedule and we are adding them daily. We have three to announce this week.
Have a great week! I hope to see you at a show.
Scott

OUR NEXT SHOWS
Friday, June 26 TRUFFLE
Their sound, a mix of swampy soul, R&B, Bluegrass, New Orleans grooves and World music has been stewing in a pot for years and is ever changing. Their live show never dictated by a set list is eclectic and different every night. You need to experience it for yourself – Enjoy!
Saturday, June 27 SAVOY BROWN
Legendary---a blues/rock institution---true innovators---These are just a few of the ways SAVOY BROWN has been described over the past thirty years by music critics and fans. One of the earliest of British blues bands, SAVOY BROWN (with founder guitarist and longtime member Kim Simmonds at the helm) helped launch the UK blues/rock movement that paved the way for such acts as Led Zeppelin. "The music of SAVOY BROWN has never really got that far away from the blues", Simmonds says. "Today, I can still do a show that does straight traditional blues along with rock hits like "Tell Mama" and it all seems to fit. Everything that I have done with the band has had a blues stand point to it."
NEW BOOKINGS
Thursday, August 13 SOLAS
Since its birth in 1996, Solas has been loudly proclaimed as the most popular, influential, and exciting Celtic band to ever emerge from the United States. Even before the release of its first Shanachie CD, the Boston Herald trumpeted the quartet as “the first truly great Irish band to arise from America,” and the Irish Echo ranked Solas among the “most exciting bands anywhere in the world.” Since then, the praise has only grown louder. The Philadelphia Inquirer said they make “mind-blowing Irish folk music, maybe the world's best.” The New York Times praised their “unbridled vitality“, the Washington Post dubbed them one of the “world's finest Celtic-folk ensembles” and the Austin American-Statesman called them “the standard by which contemporary Celtic groups are judged.”
Thursday, October 8 BAREFOOT TRUTH
Barefoot Truth is one of the more promising young roots rock bands on the indie circuit these days. Young and roots rock are the three defining words for Barefoot Truth. Their heartfelt, melodic songs are performed with a wide array of instruments including upright bass, lap steel guitar, congas, didgeridoo and lead harmonica. Despite using classic folk instruments, Barefoot Truth is clearly a band of the 21st century. With each member still only 22 years old, Barefoot Truth is product of the download age and advocate spreading music through any medium possible, including file sharing. Recently, BFT launched www.freebft.com, a website dedicated to free downloads of their shows and studio albums.
Saturday, November 28 THE STOMPERS
The Stompers story begins in the fall of 1977 when friends Sal Baglio and Mark Cuccinello decided to start a band. Stephen Gilligan and Dave Friedman, the only people to respond to an index card posted on a music store bulletin board seeking musicians, arrived a short time later. On November 7, 1977, the musical neophytes played their first gig in Beverly, Mass. From 1981 through 1986, readers of The Boston Globe voted The Stompers the Number One Band in New England three times and in the top three the other years. Mind-boggling indeed when you consider the competition of the era, as many locals had already gone on to national success.

I have tried to put genre tags on these artists. Keep in mind that everybody has a different idea of what genre to put someone into. You might not necessarily agree with mine.
